When a file is pulled
A lookup pulls that USDOT from the files below. Inspections and crashes are pulled again on a new lookup, and when the daily check runs for a watched carrier with live lookups turned on. Opening a carrier that is already on file does not pull them again. The daily job also deletes old audit rows. There is no full-file import.
Daily means a lookup treats the file as current. Monthly means a snapshot used as a backup input. Frozen means an archive that no longer updates.
Company census
Who the carrier is, the fleet size, and the last census update. A lookup reads one USDOT.

- QCMobile is an optional company snapshot, separate from the files above and not part of the daily job. This process does not call it.
- Related carriers are found by the same phone, email, address, officer, or VIN. A one-character difference can be labeled fuzzy after that carrier is already in hand, and that label can change the shared-identity points. A search that starts from near-matches across the census is not built.
